Funtasma by Pleaser Men's Halloween Maverick Boot - Gothic Punk Ankle Boots for Costume Parties, Cosplay & Nightclub Outfits

I bought these vinyl boots in Feb 2012 for a theater production of "How I Became A Pirate", and they were a great addition to my character of "Sharktooth". The vinyl material stayed upright in the "bucket" position, and the soles had enough tread to keep from slipping onstage. My character had to do a pseudo-ballet, and I was able to accomplish the choreography successfully in the boots. These boots have since been used in four more productions, for characters of a prince, and an evil swashbuckler. The actors were tough on these boots, but they couldn't break their "soles"!After 5 shows (that's 50 performances in total, not to mention the many rehearsals they participated in) the boots are starting to show major wear. The tops of the boots are beginning to peel, and there are deep creases all over the surface. In my opinion, they have held up longer than I ever expected them to. They may be vinyl, but they proved to be quite durable for two years' worth of unforgiving stage work! These boots arrived and "looked" perfect. They were ordered for my son to Cosplay Gaston at WDW Not So Scary Halloween Party. Within 1 hour of wearing them, they began to CRACK around the ankle. By the end of 3 hours, all the brown vinyl was pealing off around the ankle. They were worn next at a Pirate Fest and the sole on BOTH BOOTS peeled off. These boots are NOT WORTH the price. If you want authentic boots, please invest your $$ elsewhere.
